question on the Employee W-4 form [View all]

I've been an independent contractor for so long I forgot about filling one of these out. If claiming "1" for yourself and "1" as a single adult with one job does that mean the government takes more money out than if I just filed "1" for myself? In other words, does the more you claim have them hold out more or less tax money? I'm trying to get as much in each paycheck as I can. I'm also not sure if I'll be having just one job or not and in the near future I hope to have more jobs.
