79. I am Newton, not to be confused with the Rethuglican sporting a similar moniker.

I was born in Louisiana 70 years ago. I currently live on 20 gorgeous acres in the Arkansas Ozarks. I have a picturesque, rock-strewn seasonal creek that runs the length of my land.



I have worked at the FBI in Washington, DC (file clerk), at the Pentagon, at a university in Louisiana (media center specialist) from which I retired after 17 years.

I earned a BS in Art and Graphic Arts.

I have lived in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

I am among other things, an amateur naturalist, a photographer and a crafts person.

I have had a life-long fascination wth Henry David Thoreau and have made three "pilgrimages" to Walden Pond.

I collect numerous items, among which are diecast metal model airplanes, both old and modern projectile points (stone arrowheads), CDs, DVDs, Zuni fetishes and miniature kachina dolls.

I have interests in art, archaeology, nature, cooking, the Internet, knives, firearms. I take no interest in anything religious.

I was briefly a member of Mensa, but never tried to do badly as a contestant on Jeopardy like many Mensans.

I have a dog named Rascal that I adopted as a stray in Louisiana.
