9. They work when nothing else does.

Some of us don't want to be bothered on the phone when we walk out the door. I don't want to called and "Help, my computer just ..." after I'm on my way to do something else.
My cell is off 90% of the time. I don't give out the number to just anyone-there's only about 20 people that have the number.
Life is so much better when you're somewhere and the phone isn't constantly going off with either calls or texts. It makes for better personal interaction when you talk to someone.
I've seen people text each other across the table in places rather than carry on an actual conversation.
