(71,536 posts)I started lurking on DU in the dark days of March, 2001, and joined in September of that year, during the darker days after the Twin Towers attacks. DU helped me keep my sanity during the awful Bush years.
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas to an all-Southern, but proudly progressive military family. My father was a Vietnam veteran, and my mother marched in JFK's inaugural parade. Since 1979, we've called the Pacific Northwest home.
I crewed an M1A1 Abrams main battle tank in the Gulf in 1991. I like community theater, and love classical music and William Shakespeare. Every weekend, I post the regular Lounge feature, William Shakespeare's Thought For The Day. It was a daily feature from 2006 until 2009. Examples of this feature are in my Journal (and may have been lost during the switch-over to DU3.)
I'm a Physician Assistant providing medical care for the homeless in our community.
I'm happily married, but I admit, I love to flirt...
I'm a bleeding-heart, far-left, Obama-supporting liberal, and my political refrain, for anyone who is unsure of my ideological leanings, is: 'Liberal till I DIE, motherfuckers!'
I love the Democratic Underground, and am eternally grateful to Skinner, earlg, & eLad for creating this site.
See you around the Underground!
