10. Not book to movie, but location.

'My Cousin Vinny' (Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Ralph Macchio, Fred Gwynne) was set in Alabama.
It was filmed in Mississippi.
Why?

My native state is just as redneck as our neighbor to the west, if not more so.
