(97,280 posts)Gabriel agrees with Deanna that he was wrong and maybe, just maybe, he wants to redeem himself now. But he never was that trustworthy and is a pariah now to the Prison group.
I still don't trust him. He appears suicidal - to a point.
Ever notice how that will to survive kicks in at the last second with Gabriel? I think he's a lot like Sasha and Abraham (I'm living - hunting down walkers, crawling into graves, jumping out of the car and chasing walkers away in the woods)
Both Sasha and Abraham get that urge to destroy walkers for all they have lost. This urge, this almost manic feeling, is just below the surface, constantly churning and fighting to get out. Look at both their behaviors that others find scary. Even to each other - they each find the others behavior suicidal.
Remember Rick after Lori died? He went on that one-man walker killing spree. He got that out of his system in his spree - it burned out. Not so with Sasha or Abraham - they're a slow constant burn.
I think Gabriel is like that. Driven by guilt, the loss of his faith, but still needing to believe. So he goes off on his own, comes across a walker, looks as if he's wanting to die - only to have his suppressed anger push through, kill the walker, and he survive.
He needs that rush. He's done the walk alone in the woods thing a few times now.
But I could be wrong. lol
