I'm almost positive you will beat the charge too--but you need a good lawyer. Which costs money (believe me I know) but I don't know what to tell you, except right now everything seems hopeless, but it's not. I have been there...just last fall. How long do you have a place to stay? You were very smart (imo) of how you answered the cops. PM me if you need to--seriously.
