Watch no TV news. Major step. Not doing so doesn't make one less informed, despite the snarky statements of MSM TV addicted types might use as retorts to your aversion to MSM TV. They're ignorant assholes; Admit it, even if they are otherwise good in other ways. Fuck them. You'll find yourself somewhat at odds with pseudo-outraged types that can't understand your lack of outrage. NOT always being pissed off is a reward in itself; seeing other ignorant assholes expending great effort in impotent rage is yet another.

Be not judgemental: always be aware there are things you don't know. Don't try to extrapolate from tidbits of whatever, or what you think you know. You'll feel so much more at peace with yourself and the world around you...or at least your corner of the world. What you do learn will come as that much more rewarding.
