40. Yep, lots to do in and around Charleston.

Personally, I think Savannah is overrated. Hunting Island State Park, which is near Beaufort, has a really lovely beach. It is often uncrowded. They filmed the "Vietnam" river scenes in "Forrest Gump" there, BTW. In between Charleston and Beaufort is the ruins of the Old Sheldon Church: http://www.sciway.net/sc-photos/beaufort-county/old-sheldon-church.html. it's worth a short stop, if one has the time.
