8. My cat peed on my (thick) carpet

and saturated both the carpet and pad. I poured probably 2 cups of nature's miracle (there's a special cat pee one and a general cat smell one) on the spot and covered it with a clean plastic bag to keep it wet for at least 48 hours (maybe 72 or even more? - its been a while). I think I then soaked up as much as I could with clean towels and let it all air dry. No smell left - it was amazing. Also did it with a memory foam mattress which I then ran water through. It works amazingly well if you make sure it stays wet long enough for the enzymes to work.
