Remember, they are ahead of WD in timeline. If these fallen angels can redeem themselves and turn into some kind of salvation troop that makes its way across the nation, it might hold interest since we know that they will eventually meet up with Ranger Rick.

Maybe because I'm Latin American, it is holding my interest.
