The veterens rep gave me some real great tips on how to apply for a state job when I finally met with him. I wound up taking a few "tests" the state sometimes requires if you don't have a degree. I also learned how to write a proper cover letter.
I applied for a state position with Health and Human Services as an Office assistant. To my surprise I was called in for an interview. I thought it all went rather well. Now I have to wait a week to find out if I got the job.
If I get it I will work 7 1/2 hrs a day 5 days a week. Nice benefits and 30 k a year to start. I hope I get it.
