meds in general, but if you don't want a no name generic you can simply take the three components separately--same difference. what I can tell you, though, is that because all these ingredients are basically cheap, that that alone is a reason not to worry about generics--nothing to be gained by "shorting" on any key ingredients. So, yes, i think it is "in your head", but I understand. There are some food products that i just can not make myself buy anything other than the "name" brand--LOL

Any who... if you want to just create your own "excedrin":
Take 250 mg acetaminophen (that is a little less than a single strength tylenol)
250 mg aspirin (regular aspirin, like Bayer is 325 mg. Low dose, suggested for cardiac prevention purposes is 81 mg)
65 mg caffeine (you can buy caffeine tabs that are usually 100 mg or just drink a regular cup of brewed coffee)

Since this is the content of each excedrin tablet (and you normally, as an adult, would take 2), then double the above to recreate the same effect..... Or simply buy the generics.

Really. That is ALL it is... I agree that the combination is very effective--and I'm a migraine sufferer. But, it truly is not a unique formulation.
