A great many words are spelled the same whether you're in Alaska or in Florida, but naturally there are regional words that don't enjoy nationwide familiarity or acceptance.

If it's the former, then it's probably something you'll need to learn to accept.

If it's the latter, then you can be comforted by the knowledge that it happens to everyone to some degree or another.
