34. Raw onions
Thu Apr 20, 2017, 10:47 PM
Apr 2017

I'm 53. I never minded onions cooked into other food as long as they were overwhelmed by the other stuff. I like onion rings just fine.

But I've always haaaaated raw onions.

Until very recently - like in the last 2 months. I tried a local walk-up taco place that makes tacos al pastor which, as far as I can tell, is just soft corn tortillas, shredded pork, hot sauce, cilantro and raw onions. And somehow the combination just clicked right in my mouth and I've been addicted to these tacos ever since. They are closed on Mondays but I've had lunch there at least twice a week for the last 2 months. And a few dinners.

I've even tried raw onions on other things and, while not as good as those tacos, I didn't mind them.

I consider this an important, if a little late, milestone in my developevent as an adult.
