(914 posts)So glad you decided to take these two boys into your life. I lost my best friend, Arlo, 17 months ago to cancer. I found Arlo and his brother, Woody, in a cardboard box on the side of the road when they were about 6 weeks old. Woody died when he was only 5 from heart failure. Arlo lived on, but never got over losing his brother, my heart broke for him in the weeks he waited to see him again. I have not recovered yet from losing Arlo ~ he took my heart and soul with him when his light went out and we lowered his little body into his resting spot next to his brother in our garden where we played together for so many years. I'm 72 now, so I don't dare take on another that would probably end up in a shelter when I pass on. I do have six other rescues we got when Arlo's brother died ~ trying to soothe Arlo's broken heart ~ but it just wasn't the same for Arlo. I do love my others and hope I will outlive them all. Thank you for adopting.
