18. I was a Junior Firefighter in elementary school. A captain!

Which was a crazy thing because I was also a pyromaniac.

I passed the quiz easily, 100%, because I knew so much about fire. I was reading the comic book style Junior Firefighters handbook entirely the wrong way. It wasn't meant to be an instruction manual.

Alas I didn't qualify for the safety patrol because I always had an "unsatisfactory" or two on my report cards, often for doing unsafe things like climbing up on the roof of the school to retrieve balls, playing with knives, or dodging across the street against the direct orders of adult crossing guards.
