(42,807 posts)I don't have an answer because my tastes keep changing.
As I kid I thought "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" was the funniest movie I'd ever seen. But I watched it again recently and I hardly laughed at all.
In the 80's I thought anything by Woody Allen was hilarious. But now I won't even watch them.
"Blazing Saddles" used to be a favorite, but I've seen it so many times that I don't even laugh at the jokes any more.
Probably I'd say the same for "Young Frankenstein" even though I think Mel Brooks is a genius.
Current humor - at least the recent movies - seem to be so raunchy that I can't even enjoy them, and I'm no prude.
I find myself laughing the most in the animated movies that are aimed for kids but also have stuff for the adults to enjoy. I'm talking about the "Shrek" movies, "Finding Nemo," "Tangled," "Monsters Inc.", "Up," the "Toy Story" movies, so you get the idea. They seem to be very fresh and clever, but they're not necessarily intended as comedy movies.
