Am I the only one who really hates commercials?

I cannot stand someone trying to up sell me. Ever.

I actually just had to buy a new car today. Something I dread and put off until it's not avoidable anymore. I hate it that much every single time.

My sales agent knows me and was great. We worked the deal via email and had everything setup before I set foot in the dealership. The fiance agent wasted mine and their time trying to smooze me and up sell me on useless extras. She was even used fake props to scare me. I was so deeply underwhelmed I can't even begin to express my disdain. As I said, I despise the process.

Why do all of us who aren't easily manipulated have to deal with the same crap as those who are?

Shouldn't they have an opt out at some point where we can exclude the lame commercials and the useless hour of up selling when we make a major purchase?
