While it may seem like hundreds of thousands of students are rioting in the streets to protest a $300 raise in their tuition, a tuition i might add that is the lowest in N.America, i believe separatists are behind/leading the unrest and the real objective is to make Jean Charest's liberal government look so bad that people are going to vote for the Parti Quebecois in the next election and thus bringing about the almost certain possibility of another referendum on Quebec separating from Canada.
