Bob Weir #RIP - RARE PERFORMANCE - Loose Lucy (by Jerry Garcia / Robert Hunter)

Good Vibrations with Freeball

05/16/2019 - Met Bobby at a small charity event in Laguna Beach. Found myself sitting at the table next to him at dinner. Yep, well, couldn't help myself; had to say hi...then, after dinner, he bust out a guitar and began playing. Like any seasoned Deadhead, I know instinctively that when the music starts, you start recording. One of the most magical nights of my life! Knew I had to capture some of it for you. #gratefulforever #nfa

For those of you who keep asking...the event was. fundraiser for Chapman University, a small private university in Orange County (Southern Cal) where his daughter, Monet, was a student at the time. The event was at a private home in Laguna Beach and its attendance was auctioned off to raise money for the school. All I knew is that the event was to have dinner with Bobby. I had no idea he was going to play for us. Then, after dinner, he pulled out his guitar and asked, "What would you like to hear?". I wasn't sure if it was appropriate or not to record at this private event. But I knew this was GOLD and I knew Bobby wouldn't mind. I feel incredibly lucky — not just to have heard the music, but because I had the chance to thank him in person for this gift that he has given to all of us. GRATEFUL I was able to get to tell him what his music meant to me while I had the chance.
