I play bass in a hobby band. We set up and play for an occasional grand opening, weddings,
a once a month gig at the local Harley dealer on Saturday afternoons, and once in a while in a tavern.
These are four hour long performances. Many songs.
The 'front man' sings on all the songs. That's a lot of words and chord progressions to remember.
The Harley song list isn't the same as wedding song choices.
Song structure, tempo, first words of verses, song key, used to be stored in 'shorthand' on 3x5 cards on a rolodex mounted on the mic stand.
Now he uses an i-pad in place of the rolodex.
A very cool way of using tech.
imho
