...very good record.

I did not know that Nesmith/Tork/Dolenz/Jones supposedly played most of their parts on this one, with minimal studio musician input.

My stepfather had Headquarters when it came out, that's how I first heard the whole thing - besides the top 40 hits on my transistor radio.

In that time, the "Wrecking Crew" and other studio musicians were rampant on so many records by so many different artists that, in my opinion, that should not be a reason to exclude The Monkees from the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Mickey Dolenz was a friend/hanger-outer with Dewey Martin of Buffalo Springfield and likely advised Mickey on the drumming thing.

At least, that's what Dewey told me almost 40 years ago.
