I had a bilateral mastectomy and the reconstruction was so botched! I was in pain for 24/7 and at serious risk from the non-stop staph infections for 6 months. I thought I was going to die. My theme song was Lenny Kravitz's I Want to Get Away. I just sang that song over and over through my tears. It totally got unbearable, I fought with the doc several times, and I went to his office and forced his hand to remove the infected implant. I will often back down to keep the peace, but not this time, dealing with my 3rd infection. I refused to leave and started talking really loudly about how horrible this was anytime someone came for an appointment. After 1 person had left and the 2nd one looked like she was going to, they finally caved and I received the care I was so desperately needing.
