Thanks for the updates. I heard about Jake's album. During the early 90s we were in close touch -- I lived in Chelsea. Jake and I jammed sometimes. I play a (very) little guitar. But jamming with Jake was always learning new tunes. He was technically "out" of music then, but composing all the time. I was surprised, and glad to see that he was doing something new. Jake has few entries on Youtube, but here's a sample for those who don't know:

I hear of Chandler occasionally, but I thought that Steve had left music entirely. Please mention me to Chandler, send my regards. (Look for PM.)

I saw the Dickens at their debut performance which was in the barn at Bull's Head, for the first NRBQ Christmas party. (Paul) Amrod's Brand, and (I think) Travis Shook ATCW, opened, then the Marshmallow Dickens. Minds were blown. There was a spin-off, sort of Dickens-Lite in which Don Placco (aka Sundance Clover) was crooner Chance Wayne. And backed by "the Donn Early Orchestra" -- Donn Adams (aka Dill Spears.) I once played drums with the Donn Early Orchestra at a gig! (My observation, never having performed with a band, was that at the drums, I could not hear what the band was doing. "That don't matter. Ya did great!" said Terry.)

So good that you spent time with Keith. A beautiful person.

And I applaud again the essence of NRBQ (from a born jazz fan) these guys would rather die than imitate themselves. Whenever you hear them, everything is new. Even old songs have new packages. I would love to see more stuff of the Terry-Steve reunion.
