Actually, the record, titled LIE, was released by the Manson Family after Charlie and the others were arrested.
They hoped to sell records to raise money for their legal defense.
The cover art was the infamous LIFE Magazine photo of Charlie, with the F in "LIFE" removed to spell "LIE."

Here's the back cover art, which features a phone interview of Manson by my old friend, Steve Alexander, who was on the staff of "Tuesday's Child," a Los Angeles underground newspaper at the time of the Manson murders.
