and the set lists for the evening's show reveal that the band performed the entirety of their smash-success 1969 rock opera album, Tommy, in track order, including hit "Pinball Wizard."
They started the show in Mammouth Gardens, a horrible venue packed to the gills, paused the set to announced they had something special to share. Next thing you knew total chaos and musical genius break out in harmony.
I don't think they ever did this again in any venue. Or to a more chemically prepared audience!
