In reply to the discussion: January 2013 Photo Contest Poll [View all]Still Life photography is a grouping/placement of (usually) inanimate objects (cut flowers and fruit are not uncommon in a still life) the photographer puts together/arranges in harmony (for composition) and shoots. (with particular consideration to light/shadows, focus, color, contrast, etc..) Usually done indoors, but not always. The photographer has complete control of the shot because the photographer controls all aspects of the photo. (subject, placement, lighting, etc..)
I'm sure a still life can be created in a graveyard but Still Life isn't confined to the graveyard nor does it mean graveyard/cemetery shots.
