Saturday's Horses -- Kate's Story Part II -- Baby Kate. [View all]

Kate came from a mare named Zoe, who was named after Laurie's mother.
Nicknamed Zoey, she was purchased as a weanling,
so that Laurie could begin raising Paint babies.

Zoey had a mellow, loving person (oops excuse me) "horse-onality".

She did well and thrived on the farm.

At long last, as a four-year-old, Zoey brought her baby into the world.

Baby Kate would run and bound around.

Mama Zoe encouraged her to eat some hay, and she did,

but there's nothing quite like mother's milk.

Kate played with our dog Sandy (so named for her sandy coloring).

Or just played.

When she was seven months old, Kate was entered in her first show.

Shown here with our grandson Michael, Kate finished
second in her class. Michael's holding her red ribbons.

And here we leave off, friends, until next week, as Kate grows
and life gets better.
Thank You for stopping by!
