Sunset at zero degrees [View all]

This time of year, the sun sets far to the south, so my usual sunset-viewing spot is compromised by the airport and hills and trees that lie in that direction (unlike the expanse of water which you see in my spring and fall sunset shots). But since it's close, I like to go down to the Point in the winter anyway and shoot back towards the city and the mountains. Kind of reverse sunset.

This is how it looked this afternoon. I couldn't stay out long because it was very cold but the alpenglow is worth coming out for.
