47. You know how much I love birds! That's why

I have never had a cat.

My Mom told me that when I was an almost newborn they attached my carriage behind their tandem bike as they were evacuating against the deep flying air attacks on German civilians in the last months of WWII.
She said the problem was always the bird cage with the canary.
She said as they hid in ditches when the planes went over them the cage was always put on top of me.

I actually only learned this a couple of years ago.
I think maybe I somehow remembered that.
