There is the best sub-station not far from my house that I am not allowed to photograph. It sits right next to train tracks that are situated at the forest edge, the miles measured and marked by creosote poles running the length of the tracks. The parallel scoop of twin lines cresting like waves as they connect pole to pole. The train passing through time, as electricity passes through the wire, as life scurries through the woods. As I drive down the road.

At night, the lights surrounding the station showcase an eerie beauty of steel and nature. Passages of time and space, of longing and uncertainty, of our own travels through life.

I wish you could see what I see when I look upon what some would call an eyesore, but I see as but a window to the vastness the night brings. The infinite possibilities.

Egads! Someone stop me now.
