59. Don't worry - I will use word of mouth to get them

We traveled in the Asheville area for several more days. Every where I went I made sure to mention our bad experience at the Crowne Plaza, particularly to the people most likely to be asked for recommendations for places to stay.

The organization that put on the seminar that was held there for the five days before the eclipse will get copies of the letter I wrote to IHG today about my experiences at Crowne Plaza. They already had lots of other complaints about the venue and will never arrange another one there.

I had become a gold member of the IHG Rewards Club due to the number of times I stayed at their hotels - they also own Holiday Inn Express, which I do like for the most part. In fact they have the only decent hotel in the town where my Mom lives is one so I will not be boycotting the entire chain.

Ralph and I are planning a cross country trip and I had thought about prioritizing IHG locations to stay so I earned points for free nights. Now I am not so sure. I made that a major point in my letter.
