5. I credit the lack of groundhogs to their arrival, this year

There are a couple of ferals that have taken up residence beneath my neighbor's shrubs and that's where the groundhogs used to shelter.

I'll try the water trick. I had put an old carrier crate with some bedding along side the house for them, over the Winter, and kept some dry food in a dish, for them. Now the Day Lilies have engulfed the crate! That's what it was perched on. I have found the spot, right in FRONT of the house, that this kitty likes to curl up for a nap. That's the perfect place for a 'refreshment bar'.
