I will always associate elk with Yellowstone. When my husband and I visited the park in September 2018, there were elk all over the place. Leaving the park late one night, a big handsome bull elk crossed the road just a few feet in front in front of our car and paused for a moment to look at us like "What ARE YOU doing here?" (We were moving very slowly at the time, thank goodness.) Good times!
