As for your decision to stop watching the show, that's fine, although I did find it
strange that you never even bothered to answer the question I asked in my first response.

As for the ratings, I don't know what your sources are, but mine find the reviews
to be "mixed", rather than "bleak and dismal", as it were.

As for the show continuing, more than one series (Breaking Bad is one) received negligible
ratings in it's first season then went on to be successful.

Fear not for my lack of a discussion partner, SG, it's only a TV show, and AMC does run a blog
for the show's regular viewers.
