I like the format of his show particularly how he interviews the guests for the night. He brings them out at the same time and as such they all contribute to the interview as they interchange amongst themselves. This is always far better than the format of bringing one guest out at a time and then sending them off before the other guest comes in as you see in most other late night shows.
Also, it looks like CBS has given Cordon more resources and money for the set and all the bits that Cordon pulls off some of which are really inventive. He actually went up and down a residential street near the CBS studio randomly knocking on people's doors asking if he could do the show from their house. He pulled it off and it was very entertaining. They gave Cordon a band as well.
As Craig is so very talented - in his own right - so is Cordon. I'm wondering if Craig made any recommendations to CBS to hire Cordon.
I do miss the robot and the horse though. At the end of May I'll be seeing Craig live on his comedy tour. It was postponed as it was to come off in March - but I understand that Craig is shooting a sitcom in which he will star it and that delayed his original date.
As for the others - I really can't watch Fallon. For some reason that show seems loud and obnoxious. Kimmel is tolerable and funny. I would watch him but I'm going down to the last show with Dave. Meyers is opposite Cordon so I never see Meyers show. As for Cobert who will take over for Letterman - we'll wait and see and I'll give that one a chance - though I don't know how anyone will be able to replace Letterman.
