The "toughest" sheriff in the country is groveling back to supporters again for money to pay his legal fees to keep him out of jail. The only upside I can see to these years of chaos in the Maricopa County's Sheriff's Dept. is that the blustery big mouth is not as willing to go before the public now with his messages of arrogance. And what have the taxpayers of Arizona paid for this contemptuousness? I have heard the figure of up to $38 million. Correct me if I'm wrong. The Sheriff has now been cut off by the county and says he cannot personally afford to pay for his lawyers. He should have thought of this years ago, shut up, and should have done his job the legal way it was supposed to be done. The new grovel is not unusual since he's been hitting the suckers online since 2010. The outcome could be contempt of court by a federal judge that is the result of his racial profiling. Can you imagine Joe Arpaio in jail? Hey, how about Tent City?

But there is one great thing to be said for this man. Sheriff Joe Arpaio converted the old First St. jail into a no-kill animal shelter, called a MASH unit, and takes in animals from all over the world. There's nothing like it and it is air conditioned for its residents who are housed in the refitted jail cells. They are all very well taken care. And some would say this makes Sheriff Joe a Saint.
