It was my search for information regarding AZ judges on the ballot that lead me to this forum. So, thanks for the helpful information. I hang out here most of the day while I am working.

This is the list of judges/information I used to make my decisions for voting:

Chief Justice Robert M. Brutinel, Chief Justice, Appointed by Brewer in 2010, retained in 2014, 33 voted meets requirements, recommended with reservations NO

Comments: Conservative. Voted in 2018 to remove Invest in Ed from ballot. Voted in 2020 to prevent secure E-Qual online signatures for ballot measures. Recused in Brush & Nib case to deny LGBTQ couples service.

Justice Andrew Gould, Justice, Appointed by Ducey in 2016, voted meets requirements, not recommended NO

Comments: Extremely conservative. One of the judges appointed when AZ Supreme Court was expanded by Ducey. Wrote the majority opinion in 2019 case allowing Brush & Nib to deny LGBTQ couples service. Voted in 2018 to remove Invest in Ed from ballot. Voted in 2020 to prevent secure E-Qual online signatures for ballot measures.

Justice John Lopez IV, Appointed by Ducey in 2016, voted meets requirements, not recommended NO

"Extremely conservative. One of the judges appointed when AZ Supreme Court was expanded by Ducey. Voted with the majority allowing Brush & Nib to deny LGBTQ couples service. Voted with the majority to knock IIE off the ballot in 2018. Proud member of the Federalist Society (welcomes conservative and libertarians to fight ""orthodox liberal ideology"" and ""place a premium on individual liberty, traditional values, and the rule of law."" "

James Morse Ducey 2017 33 meets. NO
Strong supporter of the Federalist Society and Constitutional originalism. Harshly disregarded due process rights for an immigrant with inadequate representation in 2018 appeals court case.

Jennifer Perkins Ducey 2017 33 meets. NO
Strong supporter of the Federalist Society and supporter of qualified immunity, which protects government officials (including police) from civil action for potential misdeeds. Former attorney for the Institute of Justice, a right-wing legal aid society that supports "school choice" (i.e. de-funding public education), religious "liberty" (i.e. sanctioned discrimination), and libertarian economic policies.

David Weinzweig Ducey 2018 33 meets. NO
As Asst AG, argued that midazolam should be allowed for executions, despite horrifying botched executions in Arizona & Oklahoma. In 2015, as Asst AG, defended a law denying abortions to women if doctors "knew" the decision was based on the fetus' sex or race.

Christopher A. Coury Brewer 2010 "Civil Department Phoenix" 33 meets. NO
Ruled against Invest in Ed initiative in July 2020 with a disdainful, contemptuous, and unprofessional decision. The decision included conditions for the initiative's 100-word statement that were clearly unachievable. We believe that the judge's sneering comments in the decision and in court are unacceptable in the US justice system. "Coury has been relentless in his career for court appointments," wrote Dillon Rosenblatt in the Capitol Times (8/13/20). "It took him eight tries to land on the Superior Court."

Jo Lynn Gentry Napolitano 2005 "Juvenile Department Juvenile Court Durango Facility" "26 meets. 6 does not meet. NO Recommendation based on poor Judicial Performance Report. Rated poorly on "basic fairness and impartiality," "equal treatment regardless of economic status." and "understanding and compassion."
Main concern is temperament: Rated 64% temperament by attorneys. Garnered ratings in all other areas in 80s, except 98% admin performance. Litigant ratings all in 90s."

Maricopa County Special Health Care District election- Mary Harden YES- she is a nurse – the other guy is in finance and would not disclose any information of why he was running
She has been a registered nurse at Valleywise Health Medical Center for 32 years and also serves on the board of Valleywise Health Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for education, research and patient services.
She was one of the dissenting votes last year when the board approved a five-year contract for CEO Steve Purves that included a $85,000 pay raise. She cited concerns that included the hospital being penalized by the federal government for five consecutive years over its rate of infections and patient injuries, as well as a naggingly high turnover rate of employees with less than a year of service and a budget deficit for the fiscal year.
