1. The Santa Monica city council has gone completely insane on this issue

A federal judge is eventually just going to appoint a receiver to take control of the airport and enforce the 1948 covenant, the one that says the city has to operate the airport forever.

Of-course the funny thing is if the airport were to close and the approaches could be rezoned the assholes who were complaining about the airport will then be complaining about skyscraper condos.
