4. i just talked to my son in LA

and looked up Death Valley and Palm Springs on the weather channel. 124 and 120 respectively. I'm in NC and the weather sucks here because of the humidity but it rarely tops 100. over 110 i don't believe i could bear it. the hottest i've ever been in is Apole Valley many, many years ago (like almost 50) and it was 118. i was a child so maybe it didn't bother me all that much but somehow i have never forgotten. 118 in the shade.
my sister in law put a picture of their weather up on facebook. 93 degrees - they're in Morro Bay.
