5. i lived a year in Lancaster

back in the 90s. i remember for at least 3 weeks that summer it topped over 100 every single day. my car had an overheating problem and we'd be driving down the hot freeway in the heat with the heater on to keep the engine from blowing up. i always thought i deserved like, battle pay or something for enduring those hot, hot days. had the best tan of my life though - even though i could not lay in the sun longer than 5 minutes before i had to jump into the jacuzzi to cool off.
