2. Apparently he did not have a "break the glass" plan on this occasion.

Too Big to Fail, a decent film which shows just how clueless the US Treasury department was under Dubya during the critical days as global economic collapse was happening before their very eyes. They were more worried about keeping Republican values than helping the situation. By the time it became evident that it was time to break the glass they had anticipated nothing and the situation was out of control.

Delusions and partisanship maximized the harm at a time that it required forward thinking people to anticipate and be proactive. Instead, there was short-sighted reaction.

A great cast and yet another very impressive production by HBO films. Highly recommended. And yes, Kashkari figures prominently.

N.B., yes, this is told from the perspective of Paulson's Treasury Department office, so there is a Republican slant to the narrative. But this should not detract from the fact that within the narrative, Paulson gets just about everything wrong.

BTW, Paul Giamatti channels Ben Bernanke and Ed Asner plays Warren Buffett. James Woods plays the complete asshole Dick Fuld (appropriate for him).

From Sorkin's book of the same name which I read twice.
