Unsettled, even foul weather may plague D.C. area much of next week due to rogue weather system. [View all]

'So much for the summer weather. The cool, wet weather that was so persistent from mid-April to early May is set to eturn next week.

While Washington enjoys 80-degree warmth Friday and Saturday, by early next week a strong weather disturbance will drop into the eastern United States and become cut off from atmospheric steering currents. This means cool, damp weather could park itself over the Washington region for days.

At the moment, showers are in the forecast every day next week starting Monday while cooler-than-average conditions return by Tuesday. Two to four inches of rain could fall.

Computer model forecasts indicate the dreary pattern may not give way until next weekend (May 22 and 23).'>>>
