1. My mom used to buy hot tamales from an elderly lady in our small town.

She sold them once a month, at the end of the month.

We would wait in what we called a traffic jam for our tamales last Saturday every month. Forty cars would be buying several dozen, and freeze them until she made more next month.

They were fantastic!
