Resorts where property values are high have a hard time staffing schools because no person can afford a place to live on a teacher's salary and be close to the school. Thus the schools are forced to pay higher salaries or scramble to staff a school every year.

Some school districts have resorted to building their own condos to "rent" to teachers because they can't afford housing nearby. Others in high-cost areas basically build staff on children from the community (they can live with their parents) or spouses of people having better financial situations.

But, hey, we have our priorities here in America, right?
