4. Sumter County only has a population a little over 125,000

Before The Villages started, it was a very low density county, with a lot of cow pastures and swamp land. The big claim to fame back then was the Webster Farmer's Market which is still held on Mondays. Unless you want the ultimate junky flea market experience, do NOT drive through Webster on State Road 471 on a Monday.

On the other hand, it's a great place to buy ten pounds of carrots for cheap - I used to get them and bring them home for my horses.

Miami-Dade has 2.7 million.
Broward has over 1.9 million.
