3. This is a direct result of officials in office not speaking up.

Those in a position of public trust have a duty to tell citizens the hard truth in matters of public health. To standby and say nothing when the president and other Republicans minimize the risk of covid is a dereliction of duty.
Speaking up takes backbone, but it shouldn't place your family in danger if you do so. Activate the national guard, have them provide security at the homes of these officials.
The right to protest isn't a right to terrorize. Jail these miscreants.
