2. We reap what we sow. Sadly I don't see things getting better any time soon.

We are suffering the consequences of chronic voter apathy and disinterest. Many people I know don't know about these two stories because they have no interest in real news; just house fires, Kardashians, and plane crashes.

Yes, the corporate press, including NPR, is completely useless and are an easy target to be blamed for this, but the information is out there if people seek it out. Unfortunately, it seems that many of our fellow citizens are too lazy and disinterested to do so.
