Great news! Medea Benjamin will be in Minneapolis on August 6 for her book tour on Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control and to speak about her trips to Pakistan and Yemen! Here are the details:

Drone Warfare: Killing By Remote Control
Tuesday, August 6, 7-9pm
Spirit of St. Stephen's
2201 First Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55404
(Parking in the lots or on Stevens Ave)

Medea has just returned from Yemen where she spoke with families who have been devastated by drone and cruise missile strikes as well as families who have relatives locked away in Guantanamo prison.

In her book, Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control, she provides the first extensive analysis of who is producing the drones, where they are being used, who pilots these unmanned planes, and what are the legal and moral implications. She also looks at what activists, lawyers, and scientists across the globe are doing to ground these weapons. She argues that the assassinations we are carrying out from the air will come back to haunt us when the others start doing the same thing -- to us.

Medea is a cofounder of the peace group CODEPINK and the international human rights organization Global Exchange. A former economist with the United Nations and World Health Organization, she is the author and editor of eight books.
